Origins and Track Record
Palladium's capital advisory team traces its origins from two market leaders in the impact industry, Triodos Facet and ShoreBank International. Triodos is a leading bank focused on sustainability and the real economy. Its in-house consulting arm was Triodos Facet, which merged (in 2013) with the international advisory business of The ShoreBank Group, the pioneer of the community banking model in the United States. The combination of those businesses became Enclude, leveraging their combined 50-year track record of entrepreneurship development, inclusive finance, and professional services delivery. In 2018, Enclude joined global impact firm Palladium. Together they developed innovative ways of financing international development and leveraging private capital to address the world’s greatest challenges.

Palladium structures, negotiates, and executes transactions to raise debt or equity capital from early-stage Series A, mission-driven enterprises in the emerging markets of Sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America, and Southeast Asia. CASE STUDIES
Roughly 74% of the population in Uganda lives in sparsely populated rural areas with minimal access to financial services. Smallholder farming families are often excluded from the formal economy, leaving them at risk of falling victim to fraud through fake financial institutions, and unable to get credit to grow their businesses and create jobs.
To improve access to financial services, BRAC, the world’s largest development organisation, transformed its microfinance operation in Uganda into a bank. To meet the regulatory requirements for deposit-taking banks, Palladium advised BRAC in arranging a responsible exit, with 51% of its shareholding sold to three new partners that are closely aligned with its mission. This transformation will broaden and deepen financial inclusion for hundreds of thousands of people in rural communities, with BRAC Uganda now able to offer savings accounts, money transfers, insurance, and other financial services.
